The Last Projects: Chapter 4 - Fika Collection.

Fika Collection by Gabriela and

Marta Ortiz-Echagüe.

The two founding partners, in addition of being family, share a dream, a brand that represents their values and personal style.

Fika develops collections of limited, unique and exclusive products; between jewellery such as necklaces and earrings, and clothing like jackets, blouses, trousers and dresses.

MODERN / TIMELESS / UNIQUE

Founders

Gabriela Ortiz-Echagüe, studied Business Administration and Management at CUNEF and upon finishing her degree, she worked for almost a year for the Inditex group and then four years as a buyer at Springfield Woman.

Marta Ortiz-Echagüe, studied Law and later did the Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession and worked for JTI before dedicating herself to her true passion.

How did the idea of Fika Collection came up?

We had always the idea of setting up a clothing brand together, but our respective jobs and the little free time we had did not allow it. Last year we found the perfect moment, as we had both left our jobs , it was during a trip together that we set out on the adventure of riding Fika - Gabriela

¿How the name of the brand was born?
The meaning of the word ¨Fika¨, in Swedish, invites you to take a breath and appreciate the good things in life. We found it to be a very optimistic mantra that we identify with and that we want in our brand to communicate. - Gabriela

What does the public like most about Fika?

We trust in the philosophy of ¨less is more ¨ and we consider that the challenge is to change the consumption model. That is why we make easy pieces, produced in Spain and in limited units, for those who appreciate quality over quantity. We believe that

Fika´s philosophy, quality and style is what our clients value the most. - Gabriela

¿How did you handle the pandemic?

We have had to change our initial business model and our collection to adapt for this situation. In first place, we wanted pop-ups to be an important part of our sales, but of course, with the restrictions we had to move to a model that was 100% based on social networks and for online sales.

Besides we had everything ready to launch the collection in March and we had to postpone it to June, some of our garments were very wintery so we had to reinvest to create a collection with more summery garments.
